Heritage in Motion

Heritage in Motion is our initiative to relocate and restore Howard Hughes’s Green House at the Clark County Museum, preserving a midcentury icon and expanding Heritage Street with a powerful new chapter of Las Vegas history.

Let's move this house to Clark County Museum!

Bringing Howard Hughes's House to the Clark County Museum

Heritage in Motion: The Howard Hughes House Project is a once-in-a-generation effort to preserve a remarkable piece of Southern Nevada’s story. The Clark County Museum Guild is leading the relocation and restoration of the Green House, an unassuming but historically significant home tied to Howard Hughes, the enigmatic billionaire, aviator, and Las Vegas legend.

For decades, the Green House stood quietly on the KLAS 8 News Now property. It is the last known private residence associated with Hughes and even appeared in Martin Scorsese’s Casino. Now, we’re working to relocate the house to Heritage Street at the Clark County Museum, where it will anchor a new chapter of midcentury history and capture the spirit of Las Vegas’s explosive growth in the 1970s.

This project isn’t just about saving a house—it’s about preserving a moment in time. Howard Hughes transformed Las Vegas through aviation, media, and gaming. The Green House is one of the few remaining personal spaces linked to his life.
